Marumo Gallants FC's negotiations with Bulgarian coach Dimitar Pantev have collapsed. The 50-year-old travelled from Botswana for talks but left without a deal, citing significant differences.
Pantev, who has managed Simba SC and Gaborone United, confirmed the breakdown. "They invited me there," he said. "We decided that it's better to sit, talk and discuss face to face. There was no agreement from before."
He believes the club has moved on. "We talked. We couldn't confirm. We wish each other good luck... That's all."
The failed appointment comes as Marumo Gallants sit 16th in the Premier Soccer League with just two points from six games. Their recent form shows one draw and four defeats in their last five matches. The club's next challenge is an away fixture against sixth-placed Sekhukhune United on 17 October. Fans can check the full upcoming schedule on the club's fixtures page and see the current standings.
