Motebang Sera Departs Marumo Gallants FC After Short Training Period
Lesotho international forward Motebang Sera has officially left Marumo Gallants FC after training with the club for just two days. The 31-year-old striker confirmed his departure, citing urgent personal matters and timing issues as the reasons for his exit.
What Happened During Sera's Time at Marumo Gallants?
Sera joined Marumo Gallants FC for a brief training period but had to leave abruptly due to an emergency in Lesotho. He explained that the club was already deep into pre-season preparations, making it difficult for him to integrate fully. "I was there at Marumo. But I only trained with them for about two days," Sera told Soccer Laduma. "I had to go home to attend to an emergency. It was very urgent."
Why Did Sera Not Return to Marumo Gallants?
The forward revealed that timing was a significant factor in his decision not to return. "I didn’t go back to Marumo because I realized there is an issue of time as they are preparing for the season and all those things. I didn’t get enough time to train with them," he said. Sera’s departure comes after a season with Venda FC in the second tier, where he scored 14 goals in 95 appearances in South Africa’s top-flight.
What’s Next for Motebang Sera?
Sera is now looking for a new club and has been linked with Bahlabane Ba Ntwa, who have been training at Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria. The experienced striker is hopeful of securing a new opportunity soon. "I am looking forward to finding a new home and continuing my career," Sera added.
