Lerumo Lions have finalized 12 new signings ahead of the 2026-27 season, with Dimakatso Mashao, a 22-year-old defender from Marumo Gallants, among the additions. The club’s head coach, Tshepo Maphari, confirmed the transfers but hinted at a formal unveiling next week. The squad now includes Brazilian winger Victor Santoro (free transfer), Ivorian shot-stopper Donald Bougo, and Bongani Nkone (from Hungry Lions) to strengthen their goalkeeping options. Right-back Odwa Nyulu (Durban City) and left-footed center back Mnelisi Mbhele (Milford FC) also joined, alongside young center-back Mfanelo Khumalo (Orlando Pirates) and two more center-backs: Nkosi Simelane (Polokwane City) and Tumisang Mashele (Highbury FC). Central midfielder Sizwe Sithole (Upington City) and Aya Sibuta (Cape Town Spurs) completed the list. Mashao’s move to Lerumo Lions marks a significant transfer, as he was previously part of Marumo Gallants’ defensive line. The club’s season opener against Venda FC on Friday will test the new squad’s cohesion.
